# Agent Access

> Current integration contract for MCP clients, Codex, and Claude.

Communicate supports both a machine-readable REST contract and a remote MCP Streamable HTTP endpoint. Codex, Claude Code, and other agent runtimes authenticate with short-lived, resource-bound OAuth access tokens.

## Available now

* `GET /agents` to discover workspace agents.
* `POST /agents/{agentId}/chat` to ask an agent a support question.
* `https://app.communicate.so/mcp` for read-only MCP access.
* OpenAPI 3.1 for tool generation and validation.
* OAuth 2.0 client credentials with `agents:read` and `chat:write` scopes.
* Agent and skill discovery on `communicate.so`.

## MCP safety boundary

MCP initially exposes only `communicate_list_agents` with `agents:read`. Chat remains on the REST API until Communicate has an out-of-band approval flow for mutating MCP tools.
